Review: MUA Power Pouts Color Intense Tint & Balm in "Justify & Irreplaceable"

15:19:00

Hey lovelies,

Hope you all are great. Let's start the week with my favorite lip product for winters as well as summers, the MUA Power Pouts. MUA power pouts are considered as a dupe for the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains. I bought these two shades somewhere back in spring/summers this year and fell in love with them. I use these a lotttt and loving these power pouts even more in winters. So, I decided to do a quick review on these for all my lovely readers :)

I love lip crayons as they are more convenient to use. These lip pouts by MUA also come in a twistable stick crayon form which means no more sharpeners needed. These are considered as a lip balm and tint at the same time. I just love these. The only problem I faced was the melting issue. These power pouts are veryyyyy creamy that's why they melt terribly in summers. Therefore, you can't keep them in your bag/purse in hot weather. In summers, it's better to leave them in refrigerator overnight so that they don't melt and loose their shape. However, in winters it does not melt in the tube at all so am loving these more now.

These power pouts are highly pigmented and I must say am impressed with their pigmentation level. The coverage is medium but easily buildable. They glide smoothly on lips and feel very hydrating on lips but the hydration does not last very long. These power pouts provide a shinny/glossy finish right after the application. But am glad that the shine disappears after about half an hour and the glossy finish turns to a matte finish, which I quite like.

Now talking about the shades individually. "Justify" is a beautiful coral/orange shade which is very pigmented. When applied on lips, it appears as a bright coral with some hint of red in it. The shade is just perfect for spring/summers. I love this shade a lot ^_^. Next is "Irreplaceable" which is a pretty barbie pink shade with blue undertones. It seems lighter when swatched on arm but appears way more darker and brighter on my lips. Am loving this shade now a days in winters. Here are the swatches of both the shades:

The staying power of these power pouts is pretty reasonable too. They fade evenly. The shine fades after 45-50 minutes but the color stays for about 3 hours on the lips. It also leaves behind a subtle tint on the lips which stays for an additional 1 hour. So overall, it stays on my lips for about 4 hours or more with minimal eating and drinking which is not bad for a lip balm & tint.

The Goods:
  • Highly pigmented
  • Very affordable
  • Lovely shades
  • Decent staying power (As a balm)
  • Feels hydrating on lips
  • Turns to matte finish after some time (It's a good point for me as I don't like glossy lip products)
The Bads:
  • Melts badly in hot weather
  • Hydration does not last long
Price & Availability: These power pouts are available at Just4girls for PKR 500 only. I surely recommend you all to try these. MUA power pouts are also available at MUA's website.
