Review: DMGM Shimmer and Shine Loose Powder in Pearl...!!!
17:56:00Hey beauties,
Hope you all are doing well. Am obsessed with highlighters currently and I just love trying different forms of highlighters by different brands. Therefore today I have a loose shimmer powder review to share with you all. This one is the Shimmer and Shine Loose Powder in shade "Pearl" by DMGM Cosmetics. So let's get to the review and see what I think about this shimmer powder by DMGM....

Texture of DMGM Shimmer and Shine Loose Powder in shade "Pearl" |
"An ultra - sheer fine loose powder to set your make up for the day, with a purely professional touch. Shimmer & Shine loose powder illuminates skin with a touch of fine micronized pearls to enhance your look. The sheer powder blends easily with skin for a natural, glowing finish"
My Experience:
As per the colors shown on their website, I was expecting this shade "Pearl" to be more of a champagne colored loose shimmer powder. But it actually is a pearly pink kind of shade. The powder has really fine texture and has some very fine micro-shimmer particles in it which is good. I don't like products with heavy chunks of shimmer or glitter in them. It comes with a sponge applicator at the top of the jar that makes the application task easier and you don't need to use a brush to apply this powder. The powder feels very smooth and silky. It feels light-weight on the skin, blends really easily and does not enhance any dry patches on the skin.
This particular shade "Pearl" is sadly not very pigmented and does not really show up on my skin after blending. When swatched on arm or applied on face directly from the sponge or a brush, it appears as a nice pearly pink shade with subtle sheen and some very fine shimmer particles. But once you blend it, the color totally disappears. The only thing which is visible after blending is some fine shimmer particles with some very light and not much noticeable sheen. I was expecting it to be more pigmented and was expecting it to add some more glow to my face which it sadly failed to provide. The staying power of this powder is just average too and it lasted on my skin for about 3-4 hours. Here is this powder swatched on my arm without blending...
DMGM Shimmer and Shine Loose Powder in "Pearl" Swatched on Arm |
The Goods:
- A versatile product
- Contains very fine shimmer particle that reflect light
- Can be used as body shimmer
- Feels light weight on skin
- Blends easily
- Comes with a sponge applicator
The Bads:
- Does not show up on the skin after blending
- Not an effective highlighter or illuminator for face or cheeks
- Average staying power
- Expensive

ReplyDeleteGlad u liked the review :)
DeleteI saw it on the DMGM website. I think it is supposed to be used as an illuminator instead of a highlighter.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. But this doesn't even perform well as an illuminating powder.
DeleteSad to hear it didn't work out for you. But atleast it's not going to be completely useless. :)
ReplyDelete*Sigh* wish it had performed a bit better. But yes its not completely useless can be used in many ways :)
DeleteFor that price it should be delivering more! Great review though huda *thumbs up*
ReplyDeleteThank you sherry <3
DeleteHmmm seems like an average product and for that much price, I think something better would be available in the drugstore than this but holly molly, the swatch is beautiful. Too bad about the poor pigmentation.
ReplyDeleteThe swatch looks beautiful without blending. I wanted to show how it looks after blending too but my camera just refused to capture that lol. Actually it is not at all visible after blending. Yes for the price, I was expecting more too.
DeleteEmmm packaging is nice but its sad that it didn't work for you :)
ReplyDeleteYes, wish it had performed well too.
DeleteI think their liquid illuminator is great but DMGM products are pricey and don't deliver the same quality expectations ,I love MUR highlighting palette more.........
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried their liquid illuminator but have their illuminating base on my wishlist :) Yes I so love the MUR palette
DeleteEm Impressed dat it can also be used as a fixer after makeup... but yes the staying time is short! overall seems a nice product wid nice packaging! Thanks Huda!!

DeleteI am sad it didn't work for localized highlighting because it looked so cute and great pictures Huda :D Look at that cute pouffy applicator! I am attracted to such packaging. I also think like you that we can use it on other areas for highlighting and you missed one area ;) #stayK Superb work as always :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh I too wish it had performed better for me. Lol yes it is a versatile products and can be used anywhere on face or body :) Thanks a ton dear, glad u liked the review :)
DeletePretty but pricey.. hmm... Very nice and detailed review. I like champagne or golden highlighters but I would totally use this color on my eyes ;)
ReplyDeleteYes I love this color for eyes too and prefer champagne or gold highlighters for face :)
DeleteI like the sponge thingy it comes with, looks cute! :P Too bad that it didn't turn out to be great but I think this is one of those products you can work with if you use a little bit of fix plus or something! :) x
ReplyDeleteI tried using but with makeup sprays but it still failed to show up on my skin :/ I too love the packaging though :)
DeleteI don't like loose powders. They just spread everywhere and never tend to stay. Thanks for the honest review honey.
ReplyDeleteYes I can relate. I am not a fan of loose shimmers for the same reason.
