Eid was expected to be much warmer this year in Pakistan. All the girls including me were concerned about staying fresh all day long on Eid days in this scorching hot weather. The YouTube channel, “Meri Eid Ki Look” helped all the ladies to look their best this Eid with some fun and easy looks, tutorials, tips and tricks for the perfect Eid look
The channel featured different Eid make-up looks and hairdos which were super easy to do. The looks were summer appropriate yet perfect for occasion like Eid. Not only this, the channel also featured some skin care tips and DIY scrub to look fresh and glowing on Eid.

The three looks were brilliantly crafted for those who have lots of chores on Eid. The step by step tutorials, made the looks more easier and fun. Even, I learned many tricks from the videos and was finally able to finalize my Eid look.

The perky and cute Anoushay Ashraf did a magnificent job describing each look. I loved her cute expressions and the way she explained each look and made it look fun and easy. My personal favorite look was neutral eyes with bright lips for Eid Day 1.

Hope your all are doing well. Its been long since I published any tag post on my blog. I had been so busy with my work and blogging routine in past few months therefore couldn't publish any such post. Recently I was tagged by three lovely bloggers, Madeeha of Khaista Blogs, Umaima of Dudettess Talk and Ayesha of Chaste & Beautiful for the "11 things you didn't know about me" tag. 11 Things You Didn't Know About Me

Since Ayesha tagged me most recently, therefore I will be answering the questions she asked me for this tag post.

1. What do you do in your free time?
Ans: In my leisure time, I usually work on my blog pictures or pending posts. Other than that, I talk to my friends, surf the web and listen to some good music. I also prefer watching a good movie if I have enough time at night.

2. How do you organize your makeup?
Ans: I have shared pictures of my vanity and acrylic drawers many times on my Instagram and facebook page. I like to keep all my things including makeup all set, neat and well-organized. As for my makeup, I have my vanity and few acrylic and other organizers. I usually keep the moisturizers, primers, foundations, perfumes and body sprays that am using these days on the top of my vanity. I keep the blushers, highlighters, eyeliners, lip pencils and many of my lipsticks in the two acrylic organizers. Then in the the drawers of my vanity, I have things like blush palettes, eye palettes, lip crayons, lipsticks, makeup brushes and products that are under testing phase. In other organizers/drawers I keep things like false lashes, mascaras, and things that I don't use so often. So I keep my makeup organized in a way that it looks good as well as is easier to find and use.

3. Which makeup brand is your favorite?
Ans: Naming just one brand as my favorite is a little difficult. There are many brands that I love for different products. However if I still have to name one brand that I love overall, that would be Makeup Revolution. I love almost all the products that I have tried so far by this brand.

4. Your favorite movie or a book?
Ans: I do read but not a lot. I prefer watching movies and have many favorites. Still to mention one, I would name The Great Gatsby. From story to set designs, costumes and background music, I love everything about this movie and can watch it over and over again. I even bought the wet n wild fergie collection lipsticks just because of my love for this movie.

5. Is there someone you wish you looked like?
Ans: To be honest, NO. I never wished to look like someone else. I like the way I am and I would never wish to look like anybody else.

6. How do you calm yourself after a bad day?
Ans: After a bad day, praying is the best remedy. Speaking to Allah makes you feel so much better and calm. Other than that, yes I do talk to my very close friends with whom I can share things or may be do something that makes me feel better. Even organizing makeup does that sometimes.

7.  Your preferred shopping destination?
Ans: I prefer shopping online for makeup, jewellery, accessories and even clothes at times. However, in Islamabad I prefer going to Blue Area or F-10 Markaz for shopping.

8. What does beauty mean to you?
Ans: To me beauty is not something external only. Its not just about looking beautiful on the outside. It is much more than that. Real beauty is the inner beauty, beauty of the soul and beauty of the heart. If I talk about external beauty than yes beauty is about being classy, wearing a beautiful smile and being confident about yourself.

9. If one wish was to be granted, what would that be?
Ans: We all have so many wishes, don't we? Well if I were granted one wish, I would wish to be stronger than ever, to have the strength that would help me reach where I want to be and make my dreams come true.

10.What is that one thing you cannot live without?
Ans: Well our family and loved ones are definitely the people we can't live without. And that would be a conventional answer. But since you have asked about one THING, I would say my cell phone. LOL

11. Are you a quiet person or a talkative person by nature?
Ans: I do talk a lot when am with my friends or with the right people. I have been a good speaker, presenter and host always. However by nature, am not much talkative. I am rather a quiet person and a very good listener.

Hope you all are doing great. I love doing Tag Posts and this is my second tag post in a week. This time I am tagged by Bia of The Beauty Finds to do this Makeup Addiction Tag Post. Thanks a lot Bia for nominating me for this fun tag post. Yes the name of this Tag is perfect for makeup addicts like us :D This is such an interesting tag post and I'd love to do it.  :)

The Makeup Addiction Tag

1. What product do you still keep buying more of despite having plenty in your collection?
Ans: Without any doubt...my answer would be lipsticks :D Yeah, u see the name of my blog am a lipstickholic and I keep buying more despite having plenty in my collection. I even decide often and tell myself not to buy any more lipsticks as I already have enough and I use few specific shades only but still I can't help it. And yes, am still craving for more... lol

2. What is the one product you can't live without?
Ans: That would be foundation even a medium coverage one. Alhamdulilah I don't have serious any marks etc that need to be covered but I still like to achieve that flawless skin look and for that foundation is a must.

3. What is your favorite makeup brand?
Ans: O boy that's a tough one. Well my favorite brand...ummm well currently in drugstore brands am loving Makeup Revolution. All the products that I have tried from MUR have impressed me. In high end brands, I would chose Tarte as I have recently got some tarte stuff and its ah-mazingggg.

4. How big is your makeup collection?
Ans: "Coughs Coughs" I would say ask my Mom about it...lol. But well to be honest my makeup collection isn't very huge. Alhamdulilah I have more than enough things in my collection but still it ain't big enough to be called a COLLECTION. I usually buy and keep stuff that I will really actually be using. So my makeup collection is small and humble. Still its the biggest among my friends and they thing am a true makeup hoarder :P


7. If you could raid another blogger's stash, who would it be?
Ans: My answer to this one would be similar to Bia's. Christine from Temptalia was the first blogger that I started following and I really admire her collection.
From Pakistani co-bloggers, that would be you BIA. Not that I actually would do it lol but she has a lovely collection of blushers and lipsticks MashAllah :)

8. How long does your usual makeup routine take and how many products do you use in it?
Ans: Thanks to my university life my routine makeup just takes 10 minutes. I use a light foundation, concealer, a lipstick and a blusher and eye liner (I skip eyeliner and blusher often for going out or for routine makeup)

9. Have you ever brought makeup knowing you wouldn't use it?
Ans: Well honestly speaking, I used to buy a lot of stuff that I knew I won't be using and I still do especially lipsticks and blushers. But somehow, now I have learned to control my cravings and I try to spend wisely, spend in quality brands and try to buy only those things that I know I will actually be using. Still trying though :D Wish me luck :)

I love doing tag posts as they are different from routine posts and let us share our personal experiences and thoughts on many aspects. Okay so for this tag we have to follow the following basic rules...

1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?
Ans: Messy hair and nice makeup of course. In fact I go out often with messy hair n very nice makeup... lol that's my look :P

2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Ans: Hahaha this one made me laugh. Well, I won't dare to shave my eyebrows ever, they already are so thin rather I would take the pain of falling lashes.

3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Ans: Sephora because it has more brands, better options and am not much of a MAC-FAN. So yeah, Sephora for sure.

4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80’s perm?
Ans: 80's perm, not at all. The only option am left with is lipgloss/lipliner look so okay I'd go for it.

5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Ans: Overdone foundation and foundation lines look much worse. So I would rather leave the house with overdone blush. I don't mine that, it looks better in pictures and fades with time :D

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
Ans: lol well I wish there were more options here but anyhow, I would rather go for MC Hammer pants.

7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can’t be covered?
Ans: I think bad orange-y spray tan is a better option at least that can be covered..lol

8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
Ans: I would rather have a bad haircut. That can be fixed, I mean you hair grow back with time or you can pin or tie them up. I have had many bad haircuts in past. Bad hair color would look even worse.

9. Would you rather have YouTube or twitter taken away forever?
Ans: Well youtube is already blocked in Pakistan. But I really wish it gets unblocked soon. I would rather easily leave twitter as I don't use it a lot.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
Ans: Mascara. Yeah. for some reason, I don't use mascara a lot.

Hey there beauties,

I hope you all are doing great. Today am really excited because it's my blog's first birthday. So Happy Birthday to The Lipstickholic....yayyyy :)

The Lipstickholic's First Anniversary

One year back, on this day I decided to start my own beauty blog. I created an account on blogger and created a blog with the name "The Lipstickholic" to express my love for lipsticks. I wrote my very first introductory blog post on this day telling a little about myself and what my blog is about. At that time, I had no idea that how will I gain followers, how will I promote the blog or how will I ever change the blog's layout. I was not even sure that someone will read my blogs. All I knew was, I would love to have my own beauty blog, where I will be able to write about my passion for makeup, beauty products and other related thing.

With Allah's help and my devotion and hard work, I managed to learn a lot of things. I  gained some basic knowledge about HTML and CSS codes and learned how to do some basic tweaks in blog's template. I also learned ways to promote my blog and to gain more followers. In this one year of blogging, I gained a lot and learned a lot. I never knew I would be able to have so many followers on all my social accounts in just 1 year Alhamdulilah. I met many new fellow bloggers and made many new friends. And today, am really glad to have many good fellow bloggers around as very good friends.

So today, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all those new friends and co-bloggers who helped me in any way. As a friend, through their advices, or even through their simplest words that motivated me when I was down. Thank you all for being there... :)

And yes..... I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my lovely followers, who read and comment on my posts regularly. Those who have joined me on my social accounts, those who love me and appreciate my work. Thanks to all of you. Your love, appreciation and kind comments make my efforts worthwhile.. <3

Today I have a different post for you all. I was tagged by Jadirah of Jasmine Catches Butterflies to do this virtual blog tour post. Its basically about how I write my blog posts. It's about the idea behind my blog posts and to share the "Behind The Post" scenarios with you all. I really like the idea of this tag. Such tag posts provide us the chance to explain the reason we blog and share the efforts we put in to create and publish the right blog posts for our readers. So am thankful to Jadirah for tagging me. I love such posts which are different from routine. Okay I have already talked enough, now I should move on to the questions.

Virtual Blog Tour

1. What am working on?
My blog posts are always very detailed and comprehensive. I mention even the tiniest details about the product/store or whatever it is. I even explain about packaging, delivery and all minor details. People really like and appreciate my detailed reviews but still I know everyone prefers to read precise posts and they want to know about main details only. So am working on improving my writing skills and working on keeping my reviews a bit more precised. Also am working on taking the right photographs for my blog, particularly for makeup tutorials. And last but not the least am working on expanding my area/scope of writing. I am working on writing more of fashion related posts and doing more of store reviews and lifestyle posts too.

2. How does my work differ from others of its type/genre? 
When I see different blogs, every blogger has their particular style that they follow and that is what makes them different from the rest. Well I have my own style of writing too. I try to start my posts in an informal tone and always with greetings to grab the readers attention. Then, my reviews and posts are very detailed as I have already explained above. Also, I try to add more than 2-3 relevant pictures of the products in my reviews. I mean I feel reviews and posts seem dull without relevant pictures. That's why I try to add as many as I can in my posts. My pictures are usually sharper, clear and formal having plain white background. Am a business graduate, so my reviews have a particular formal format. However, I still use informal terms and expressions such as using "hahaha" to express laughter or using certain exclamations at different points in my posts. So all these things make my posts and blog different from others of its type/genre.

3. Why do you write what you do?
I write because I love to. Its not that I was always passionate about writing. It was a God-gifted ability , a skill that was in me from start (Alhamdulilah). Since my childhood, I had this ability to transform my emotions or whatever was in my mind into words. I used to write poems too which I don't write anymore. I was always good at all kinda written assignments till my masters. Now writing about makeup is something I never thought I would do but since my teens, I was passionate about makeup. I used to follow international blogs to stay updated with latest brands and new products. Till my masters I had been so busy with studies so didn't had the time to run and manage a blog. But, I wrote some reviews on a few forums just because I love to write about makeup and fashion. Finally after my studies, I finally had time and opportunity to utilize my writing skills. This is how I started this blog where I write about my passion. And now am glad to be a beauty and fashion blogger Alhamdulilah.

4.  How does your writing process works?
I don't take any notes prior to writing my posts or reviews. I just take all the pictures in my little studio. Actually not a studio, it's a table with white charts, other relevant backgrounds and bright light lamp. So once I decide that I have to review this product. I take photographs and edit the pictures before writing the post. Once am done with the picture editing part, I open my blogger dashboard and start writing about the product, shopping experience or whatever the post is about. I never felt the need to plan my post ahead. I just start writing and words automatically start coming to my mind. I add pictures in my post while writing where ever needed and then continue with the next para. After am done with it, I try to proofread my post once or twice to erase any irrelevant details or to remove any mistakes and that's how I do it.

Enjoying the weather...??? Here I am with another "Tag Post"on my blog. I guess it's tagging season here....hahaha but am loving it.. :) This time I was tagged by the lovely Jadirah of the "Jasmine Catches Butterflies". The Winter Tag

Q1) What's your favourite winter nail polish?

Okay so firstly let me tell you that I don't wear nail polishes a lot because of my extremely short nails. I only use nail colors occasionally. But if you ask about my preferable shades for winter then those would be berry, wine or dark pink nail colors.

Q2) Favourite winter lip product?

Lip balms...!!! I love tinted lip balms and my favorite are the "Labello Fruity Shine Lip Balms" in strawberry and cherry.

Q3) Most worn winter clothing piece?

I love wearing mid-length smart sweaters for outdoor. While at home I love my warm woolen casual hoodies and sweaters. I've been wearing this black warm hoodie/upper this season a lot at home.

For accessories it has to be either woolen stoles or socks. I like matching stoles with my dresses in winters instead of big shawls and socks are something which keep my freezing cold feet warm.

Q5) Favourite winter scent/candle?

Ummm to be honest, I don't really use any season-specific scents. But talking about winters, I love the smell of yummy baked choco cake.....yummm...!!!

Q6) Favourite winter beverage?

Green tea, Kashmiri tea and Coffee... Love all of them.

Q7) All time favourite holiday movie?

I don't really watch a lot of movies. But ya sometimes when I feel bored, I do and what I love to watch is animated movies. Right now, it's frozen...I love it. But my all time fav would be any Disney movie. "Tangled and UP" are my two absolute favorites.

Q8) Favourite holiday food/treat?

My favorite holiday treats are hot n sour soup, Pasta, Chinese food (my fav), Paaye made by my Mom, and many many more..... There's a long list actually.

Q9) What's at the top of your wishlist?

A lot of things...But ya right now, RT brushes and any good foundation plus some high end lipsticks.


Q10) Your plans for winter holidays?

No specific plans. I just like to relax at home watch T.V and eat something yummy with my family, that's all....

Hope you all are doing well. Here I am with my first Tag post on my blog. I was tagged by a sweet fellow blogger of mine "Sana" from "Makeupoholics". Thanks Sana for tagging me and inviting me to share my thoughts too :)


Now let me tell you how this "Tag" actually works. I have to answer a few questions and then nominate a few bloggers to complete the Tag. This is my first Tag post and I'd like to thank Sana once again for tagging me. Now this is what I love about blogging, there's always something new to know, share and experience :D

Bad Beauty Habit:

Hmm....I touch my hair a lot. I know it's bad but I can't just control it and I touch my hair quite a lot, may be because I love my hair ;) hehehe...

Beauty Secret to add this year:

This year am going to spend some money on RT brushes IA :) And yes, one more important thing that I am going to do is, focusing more on my skincare routine. I spend more money on cosmetics than on skincare products. But this year am also planning to establish and follow an effective skincare routine too.

Last Year's Beauty Favorites:

Am I the only lazy blogger in the circle who hasn't shared her favorites post for 2013..?? lol.. Well I started blogging just 3 months back so I thought it would be a little too early to write a "favorites" post for a whole year. But here you can have a quick look at few of my favorite products from the past year.

Beauty/Body Goals for 2014:

For body goals, I'll try to include some sort of exercise in my daily routine. It can be anything from a daily walk to cycling or something even more just for strength and to keep myself active. As for beauty goals, again I'll follow some skincare regime strictly. I'll also try a few desi or natural remedies/totkas such as home made masks and rosewater spray and will later share the results with you all too.

Last Year's Biggest Fashion Mistake/Regrets:

Well I ordered one Essence foundation online and the shade was a mismatch. Also, I ruined a few of my dresses by sending the tailor wrong measurements, uhhh that was so silly of me. Oh and yes I went for a haircut just a day before a special event and the haircut was a DISASTER, that girl chopped my hair so roughly and gave me very short front bangs...which were impossible to deal with the next day on the function . I guess I should have went for the haircut a bit earlier. My fault...!!! No problem, this is how we all learn, don't we... ???

This Year's Fashion Trend Predictions:

Well this year the same bold brows and bold lips trend will remain in. Talking about fashion and clothing, I really hope and wish that "Churidars" and "Long shirts" remain in this year too. Although I was in love with the patiala shalwar and short shirts trend but I love long shirts and churidars even more now as they seem very elegant and classy.

This Year's Fashion Must-Have:

This year...

• Sharpen your eye pencils and brow pencils as you will be using them a lot.
• Have pretty bold lip colors (Pinks, Orange, Fuchsia) in stock.
• Don't forget to buy a few colorful floral tights/ leggings.

Last Year's Happiest Moment/ Biggest Achievement:

Well, the happiest moments are yet to come. But last year my biggest achievement was to score A in all my subjects and scoring 4 GPA (100%) in my final semester. That really was a big achievement for me and am so thankful to Allah for blessing me with this success. Hoping for more achievements and much happier moments this year IA...

Last Year's Biggest Challenge:

2013 was full of challenges for me, completing my thesis, so much of work load and many other things. But a main challenge for me was starting my own beauty blog and making it popular. I don't know if I have succeeded in wining the hearts of my readers or not, but I am trying my best and am satisfied (Alhamdulillah) that I managed to build a reasonable followership for my blog in such short span of time. Hoping for much much more this year... :)

Any Advice For 2014:

Yes, this advice is not only for all my followers/readers who are reading this post, but is also something for me too. I read this somewhere and loved it...

"Forget the bad, focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don't. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living..... "
